Mighty God

Who is this King of glory?
    The Lord strong and mighty,
the Lord mighty in battle. Psalm 24:8

Where am I weak? Where in my life do I need God to be mighty? I love the image of God going before me into battle. He is fighting with me, for me. Jesus is mighty in battle; He is strong when I am weak. He is more than enough for me.
Jesus never promises that my life will be ‘hunky dory’. But He does promise to be mighty, to deliver me, to be my protector and provider in times of trouble. In the book of John, He says “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” He is warning me. There will be hard, messy, rough days. There will be days with battles too big for me. But He will fight for me. And He has already won.

Jesus, thank You that You are mighty. I am sorry that some days I live as if the battle before me is too much for me, and that I have to fight it alone. You are mighty in my battles. I want to let You fight for me. I give You control. I need you to overcome all the things I cannot. I need you to come through for me. Help me live as one who is victorious, not as one who is defeated.
