The New Has Come

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! from 2 Corinthians

The old has gone…The new has come! As I sit here I am thinking about all the old ways of the old me that Jesus got rid of when he died. It is so comforting to know that when God looks at me right now He doesn’t see any of that. He doesn’t see my mistakes, my failures throughout the years. He sees the new me. He sees Jesus living through me.

But often, I think I live as if I have amnesia. The old is gone. Dead. Thrown as far as the east is from the west. But how often do I live like those sinful patterns still have power over me. I am not saying I should be perfect, but I should be different. I don’t want to keep on in my anger or fear or whatever, because it is familiar and comfortable. I don’t want to keep on sinning because it has been my default for so long. I want to live as a woman who is new. I want to start wholeheartedly living out of that identity!

Will you join me in taking a moment to ask God what in you is “old”. What is you living out of your old ways? What in you does He want to make new? How does your Redeemer want to change you this week?
